As stated by NASA's Habitable World's Observatory WWW page, "The Habitable Worlds Observatory is a large infrared/optical/ultraviolet space telescope recommended by the National Academies’ Pathways to Discovery in Astronomy and Astrophysics for the 2020s. 

Habitable Worlds Observatory would be the first telescope designed specifically to search for signs of life on planets orbiting other stars."

I was delighted to be part of the Science, Technology, Architecture Review Team (START) that helped guide the early phases of HWO.  I am still co-leading the AGN through Cosmic Time working group, with Dr. Vivian U.
